Remarks from the Rector of Alauddin State Islamic University Makassar
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
All praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. We are grateful for His blessings, guidance, and mercy, which have enabled Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar to once again achieve an outstanding accomplishment. Peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad SAW, his family, companions, and all of his steadfast followers until the end of time.
With deep gratitude and pride, I, as the Rector of UIN Alauddin Makassar, would like to extend my highest appreciation to the Halal Inspection Agency (Lembaga Pemeriksa Halal/LPH) of UIN Alauddin Makassar for achieving the highest accreditation status as a nationally and internationally recognized halal inspection institution. This is an extraordinary achievement that reflects the commitment, hard work, and dedication of the entire LPH team in building a professional, trustworthy, and sharia-compliant halal assurance system.
This accomplishment is not merely an administrative recognition but a concrete proof that the LPH of UIN Alauddin Makassar meets the highest quality standards in carrying out its duties, including halal inspection, testing, and reporting. It also demonstrates that our university excels not only in academics and scholarship but also in delivering real contributions to society, particularly in supporting an inclusive and sustainable national halal ecosystem.
I sincerely hope that this success will serve as a driving force for all units within UIN Alauddin Makassar to continuously improve service quality, strengthen a culture of excellence, and foster innovative breakthroughs that benefit the wider community. The LPH must continue to uphold integrity, enhance its capabilities, and expand its service reach regionally, nationally, and even globally.
In closing, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the Chairperson and the entire LPH team of UIN Alauddin Makassar for this remarkable achievement. May the LPH continue to stand strong as a leading institution in ensuring halal product integrity and making strategic contributions to national development grounded in Islamic values of mercy for all creation.

Remarks from the Head of the Halal Inspection Agency (LPH) UIN Alauddin Makassar
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
All praise be to Allah SWT, the Almighty God, for His abundant mercy and blessings that continuously empower us to contribute to the development and strengthening of the halal product assurance system in Indonesia. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad SAW, the ultimate role model in all aspects of life, including in ensuring the halalness and wholesomeness (thayyib) of consumption for the ummah.
With sincere gratitude and pride, we introduce the Halal Inspection Agency (LPH) of UIN Alauddin Makassar as a tangible contribution from the university in supporting the national halal certification program initiated by the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH).
LPH UIN Alauddin Makassar operates as an independent institution authorized and responsible for conducting halal inspections and/or testing on products submitted by business actors, ranging from food and beverages to cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, utility goods, and services. Its operations are supported by competent halal auditors, capable testing laboratories, and a workflow system aligned with regulations and sharia principles.
The primary goal of LPH is to provide credible, professional, and trustworthy halal assurance to the public and to be part of an inclusive, fair, and sustainable national halal ecosystem. As an entity under a state Islamic university, LPH UIN Alauddin Makassar bears both moral and academic responsibilities to uphold integrity and quality in every inspection process.
We also welcome collaboration with various stakeholders, including business actors, government institutions, and community groups, to collectively raise awareness about the importance of halal products and accelerate the halal certification process, particularly in Eastern Indonesia.
In conclusion, we invite all members of society and business entities to entrust the halal inspection process to LPH UIN Alauddin Makassar. May this initiative become a lasting act of devotion (amal jariyah) and a meaningful contribution to building a healthy, blessed, and divinely favored society.

Halal inspection agency of UIN Alauddin Makassar
The Halal Center was born from Law No. 33 of 2014 which requires the establishment of a Halal Inspection Institution (LPH). UIN Alauddin was appointed to establish LPH through Rector's Decree No. 195 of 2018. In 2022, LPH coordinated with the Halal Center, which now houses the Halal Inspection Center, PPH Companion Center, and Supervisory Center.
