LPH UIN Alauddin Successfully Holds Juleha and Halal Supervisor Training

By collaborating with Bank Indonesia (BI) as the main sponsor, the Halal Inspection Institute (LPH) of UIN Alauddin Makassar in order to help make the 2024 Sharia Economic and Financial Month a success, LPH UIN Alauddin held Halal Slaughterer (Juleha) training and Halal Supervisor Training for hundreds of participants from various partners and business actors in the slaughtering service sector.
As is well known, the existence of a Halal Slaughterer (Juleha) and Halal Supervisor for a slaughtering service business is one of the mandatory requirements that must be met to obtain a halal certificate.
The Head of LPH UIN Alauddin said that this training activity was held, among other things, to facilitate and assist business actors, especially partners and fostered by LPH UIN Alauddin to obtain certification. This is considering that the first phase of mandatory halal is only a few days away, one of which is that the products and slaughtering services that must be halal certified. "This is a concrete effort to encourage business actors to immediately take care of halal certificates." He said.
This training activity lasts for 3 days, namely 2 days for Juleha training, which starts on Friday, October 11 to Saturday, October 12, 2024, then continued with Halal Supervisor training on Monday, October 14, 2024 virtually.
In order to make the event a success. In the Juleha training activity which lasted for 2 days, LPH UIN Alauddin Makassar did not hesitate, in addition to empowering several of its Sharia human resources who already had competence in the field of slaughtering, LPH UIN Alauddin also presented several expert speakers from various institutions such as the Indonesian Halal Product Organizer Professional Certification Institute (LSP PPHI) South Sulawesi and from the Juleha organization of Makassar City.
The Juleha training activity which lasted for 2 days was quite enthusiastic, on the first day it was filled with activities providing material from the speakers whose material referred to SKKNI No. 147 of 2022 where there are 10 competency units that must be mastered by halal slaughterers to be able to be said to be professional halal slaughterers which is marked by the granting of a certificate issued by an authorized institution.
Meanwhile, on the second day, after the morning session was given material about slaughtering techniques and procedures, in the afternoon until the evening session, slaughtering practices were held by each participant guided directly by the resource person who was none other than the Head of the Professional Certification Institute - Indonesian Halal Product Organizer (LSP PPHI), Mr. drh. Wahyu Suhadji and the Head of Juleha Makassar City, Mr. Wahyu Munandar, S.Pd., M.Or. At this stage, participants were given examples of the correct slaughtering techniques and procedures and then continued with slaughtering practices from all participants in turn. Then, this session ended with the evaluation and correction stages of each participants slaughtering results by Mrs. drh. Aminah Hajah Thaha, M.Si who was one of the resource persons at this activity.
In this juleha training activity, the participants looked very enthusiastic in paying attention and receiving direction from the speakers. One of them was Mr. H. Ismail, who is the Iman Kelurahan in one of the mosques in Gowa Regency. Although Mr. Ismail was the oldest participant in this activity, during the 2-day activity he was very enthusiastic in following all stages of the activity, starting from the material session on the first day to the practical session on the second day.
"Even though I have been a slaughterer for decades, until now I do not have a slaughterer certificate. In addition, in this activity I also gained a lot of new knowledge about slaughtering. That is why I am very enthusiastic about participating in this activity". He said.
Meanwhile, on Monday (14/10/2024) the Halal Supervisor training activity was no less lively. Although it was carried out virtually via the zoom meeting platform. The activity which lasted approximately 6 hours was also attended by around 80 participants from various representatives of business partners in South Sulawesi, including; Rui Fresh Mart Makassar, UPTD RPH Tamarunang Gowa, RPA Jaka Makassar, RPA UD.
